Bucky’s Bluegrass Adventure Series allows young readers to see what life is like on a real Kentucky Horse Farm from the perspective of “Bucky the Lucky Kentucky Colt”. In Book 1, “The Paddock’s Big Deal” discover the challenges Bucky faces with his first trip to the paddock where he overcomes fear and makes new friends.

Christie Morris is an artist and designer who applies her talent in many different mediums. Drawing, painting, carving, sculpting and even a tiny-bit of sewing. She is the author/illustrator of the book about Bucky the Lucky Kentucky Colt, called; The Paddock’s Big Deal. She has also illustrated The Legend of Chris Moose, written by Allen Northcutt.

Christie is also a conceptual designer for the Weber Group, where she designs features for theme parks, water parks, zoos, and museums.

At Weber, she is involved with character development and three-dimensional art designed appropriately for children; to the great delight of her own grandchildren.

Allen Northcutt, weaves a whimsical “ugly duckling” tale about an amiable but tattered moose whose name is “Ugly”. This picture book introduces eleven animal characters in rhyme as they join Ugly on a snowy trip through the woods to Momma and Poppa bears’ house. There, a Christmas eve party is made very special when Ugly gives unselfishly of himself to overcome a forgotten Christmas tree.

The story addresses everyday issues of how “Ugly” names are hurtful and it is not nice to exclude someone from a group because they don’t quite fit. In the end the animals embrace Ugly and change his name to Chris Moose, because it sounds so much like Christmas and that is what his spirit is all about.
